A memorial service for Dorothy Mae Maki, 86, a 17-year resident of Genoa will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Walton's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Maki died Aug. 21, 2007, at her home. She was born March 13, 1921, to Logan Stagner and Sylvia Ginger in West Frankfort, Ill. Prior to moving to Genoa she was a 30-year Carson City resident.

She married Walter Maki on April 15, 1943, in West Frankfort.

She graduated from West Frankfort High School in 1939. She was a homemaker. She was past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, Ester Chapter 3, Carson City, Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, Falls Church Chapter, Va., and Chapter Regent, Washoe-Zephyr Chapter DAR.

She was preceded in death by sister, Arlena Reid and brothers, Virgil, Donald, Fred and Thomas.

Among her survivors are her husband; son and daughter-in-law D. Keith and Pam Maki of Las Vegas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vada and Jim Westhues of Overland Park, Kan., and Brenda and George Brumbaugh of Fountain Valley, Calif.; one grandchild; one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at East Fork Cemetery in West Frankfort, Ill.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of the arrangements.
