A rosary for Jere P. Giomi, 86, a 35-year resident of Yerington, will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 37 North West Street, Yerington. A funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Mrs. Giomi died Aug. 25, 2007, at Renown Medical Center in Reno. She was born May 26, 1921, to Clarence and Frankie Patten in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was a 1939 Reno High School graduate.

She married John F. Giomi. She moved to Smith Valley in 1950 and worked in the grocery business and for Giomi Brothers. She co-owned and operated the local Ace Hardware store until retirement in 1997. She was active in the American Legion, VFW Auxiliary and Democratic Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years in 2000.

Among her survivors are her brother and sister-in-law, Dorman and Ginny Patten of Reno; daughter and son-in-law, Pattie and Ron Dohoney of Yerington; son, Joe Giomi of Yerington; son and daughter-in-law, John and Pat Giomi of Palm Desert, Calif.; grandchildren, Dominic of Hawthorne, Trevor of Fernley, Cheryl of Portland, Ore., and Carrie of Yerington; former daughter-in-law, Debbie Giomi of Yerington; brother-in-law, Joe E. Giomi of Smith Valley; nieces, Joann, Loretta, Diane, and Kathryn; nephews, Greg, Frank, Roy and Scott.

Burial will be in the family plot at Valley View Cemetery.
