Hugo Bracci, 83, an 11-year resident of Wellington, died Feb. 16, 2007, in Gardnerville. He was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Lucca, Italy, to Alceste Bracci and Irene Lena.

He married Phyllis Valentine on Oct. 3, 1946, in Reno.

Mr. Bracci lived in Los Angeles before moving to Nevada.

He attended John Marshall High School in Los Angeles and Santa Ana College where he played football and ran track.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942-46. Mr. Bracci worked as a master plaster caster, and belonged to the San Onofre Surfing Club.

Mr. Bracci was preceded in death by his brother Naldo Bracci on Jan. 8, 2005, in Los Angeles.

Among his survivors are his wife of Wellington; children Loren Bracci of Valencia, Calif., Dana Bracci of Los Angeles and Anna Bailey of Wellington; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Walton's Sierra Crematory is in charge of cremation.

Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
