Alice Harris "Sister" Ramnes, 93, died Feb. 20, 2007. She was born March 3, 1913, in Swan Quarter, N.C., to Robbie and Victoria Harris, the only girl of eight children.
She was an Army wife during her husband's 30-year career and traveled with him to Okinawa, Japan and Korea.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Col. O.A. Ramnes; sons Robert and Michael; and six brothers.
Among her survivors are her daughters Jo Anne Lange of Minden and Linda McCutcheon of Austin, Texas; and brother Milton Harris of Greensboro, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Veterans Guest house, 880 Locust St., Reno, NV 89501-0948.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
