William Francis Schindler

A celebration of life for William Francis Schindler, 64, a longtime Carson City resident, will be 4 p.m. today at the Reno Christian Fellowship, 1700 Zolezzi Lane.

Mr. Schindler died Jan. 1, 2007, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 26, 1942, in Chicago, to Andrew and Grace Woltz Schindler.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Rapid City, S.D.

He fabricated and installed electrical signs for 35 years.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking and antique cars. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by twin brother Robert A. Schindler.

Among his survivors are his wife of 29 years, Marylou Schindler; sons Scott Marotte of Roseville,Calif., Kevin Schindler of Chicago, Michael Marotte of Fair Oaks, Calif., and Timothy Marotte of Chicago; daughters Dawn Tipton of St. Louis and Elizabeth Gonzalez of Las Vegas; sister Geardine M. Doubek of Naperville, Ill.; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

A private family service will be held.

Autumn Funerals & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
