The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the victims in the two-vehicle accident Friday night that killed two people on Highway 88 in Douglas County.

The accident occurred at 10:25 p.m. Friday when a gray Toyota Corolla traveling westbound on Kimmerling Road turned into the path of semi-truck traveling northbound on State Route 88.

The driver of the car, Gina M. Harrison, 35, of Gardnerville, and the passenger, Jason C. Walker, 32, of Gardnerville, were both pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck, Rex Barker, 52, of Dayton, was uninjured.

The semi came to rest in a nearby field, while the car ended up on the highway.

It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash. State Route 88 was closed for more than four hours while NHP troopers investigated the accident.

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the Department of Public Safety at 687-0400.
