Services Thursday for SR-88 accident victim

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday for the brother of Washoe Tribal Chairman Waldo Walker, who was killed in an accident at Kimmerling Road and Highway 88 late Friday night.

Gardnerville resident Jason Carl Walker, 36, was killed when the 2003 Toyota Corolla he was riding in pulled out in front of a northbound semi-truck at about 10:25 p.m. Friday.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the driver of the Toyota, Gina M. Harrison, 35, was also killed in the accident.

Harrison and Walker turned south onto Highway 88 from Kimmerling Road in front of a blue International Tractor being driven by Rex Barker, of Dayton.

The front of the International hit the Toyota and then careened into a field. The accident is still under investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol. Anyone with information is being asked to contact troopers at 687-0400.

The funeral service for Walker, a member of the Washoe Tribe and a native Nevadan, will be at the Dresslerville Colony Gym.

A viewing will be 10 a.m.
