Specific job duties: Assist in dining room, as needed; chairman of Advisory Council; music director of the Singing Seniors

How much time do you volunteer per week?: Eight hours

Why and how did you become a volunteer?: Since retiring, I had a lot of idle time.

Favorite thing about volunteering: Meeting and working with many interesting people

Family: Wife, Flora; she's a retired registered nurse.

If retired, former profession: Aerospace engineer in California

What would you tell others to encourage them to become a volunteer?: Keep active - don't become bored. There are many opportunities for volunteers.
