A funeral for Leatta Rae Wainscott, 81, a 17-year Carson City resident, will be 11 a.m. Saturday to the Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton.

Mrs. Wainscott died Jan. 23, 2007, in Sequim, Wash. She was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Edgewater, Colo.

She graduated from La Jolla High School in California.

Mrs. Wainscott was an aircraft inspector for Ryan Aircraft Corp. during World War II. She worked in the school cafeteria in San Diego and the cafe at Cactus Jacks in Carson City, as well as being a mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Richard; daughter Barbara McKay; and twin sister, Loretta Cummings.

Among her survivors are son Richard Wainscott of Dayton; daughter Susan Wainscot, of Reno; sisters Sally Cundari of Escondido, Calif., and Louise Steele of Florida; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, six nieces; and one nephew.

Drennan and Ford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
