Barack Obama sent Charles Adams a letter thanking him for his hospitality May 31. Obama gave a speech at Adams' house on Kings Canyon Road during his stop in Carson City. "You made a choice to help change American politics by participating in this presidential selection process," Obama wrote. "As a leader who believes in the power of citizens, it is an honor that you have considered me worthy of your support." He signed the letter "sincerely" and included a picture of the two of them standing next to each other.

Carson City Toyota & Scion recently contributed $10,000 to Retired and Senior Volunteer Program to assure a great Fourth of July fireworks display.

The Carson City Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting donations from the community as well to boost the fund for the fireworks show.

Each year, the chamber of commerce receives calls regarding fireworks displays and they are always happy to tell the caller, "Yes, there will be fireworks over Mills Park courtesy of RSVP and Janice Ayres."

Ayres has been a champion of maintaining Carson City's (fireworks) heritage and it is because of her commitment the Chamber is asking the community to contribute any amount to assure that this year will see another spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display in Carson City.

We are asking the community contribute $25 or more to show how much we value our country and its traditions. The more dollars raised, the better the "show."

Send a check payable to RSVP, to: RSVP Fireworks, 3303 Butti Way, Building 1, Carson City, 89701. Or, call the office at 687-4680 if you wish to make a donation using your credit card.

All donors will receive recognition by RSVP and the chamber in the next issue of Voice of Business.
