Dayton teams qualify for Western World Series

The Dayton Diamond Devils softball teams are having plenty of success this summer on their way to the National Softball Association Western World Series to be played in July 14-21 in Northern California.

Dayton's 10 and under team has won two straight tournaments, winning in Fernley and Gardnerville. The 14 and under team also recently finished second in a tournament for the first time. Along with the 10 and under and 14 and under clubs, Dayton's 12 and under team has also been invited to the World Series.

The teams will next compete in the state tournament to be held June 30 and July 1 in Reno. Team members are:

10 and under: Serena Cazel, Clare Cerda, Lacey Combs, Jazmyn Conde, Madison Foley, Rachel Hadley, Jessie Miller, Christine Perkins, Gemma Ramirez, Mikayla Shadle, Stella Taylor, Ashley Vickers, Isabel Villafana. Coaches: Rosa Carcache, Troy Shadle, Hugo Ramirez; Manager: Frank Perkins.

12 and under: Kalee Alexander, Cheyenna Burrows, Kelly Combs, Tonya Harlow, Mikayla Jackson, Nicole Jackson, Brittany Mohr, Katie Nelson, Savannah Parsons, Andrea Ramirez, Gabrielle VanOteghem, Amanda Wren. Coaches: Andy Ochoa, James Jackson; Manager: Mike Hoopes.

14 and under: Brittany Howe, Brittany Kelly, Courtney Farnsworth, Crystal Macgirvin, Crissy Hoopes, Krystal Rasberry, Jessie Riddle, Teri Riddle, Megan Bowling, Mariah Collins,
