The Reno Silver Sox continued to deal with changes to its roster, picking up a pitcher, but also losing another player when Dustin Hahn retired.

The Silver Sox have signed right-handed pitcher Matt Scott, who just completed his career at Middle Tennessee State. As a senior this past season with the Blue Raiders, Scott went 5-5 as a starting pitcher with a 4.19 earned run average in 81.2 innings.

Scott will take the place of Brian Keating in the starting rotation. Keating retired earlier this month.

With two off days in its schedule over the last week, the Silver Sox were able to go with just a four-man starting rotation after Keating retired. But the Silver Sox began a road trip on Thursday at Long Beach in which it will play seven straight days, so the signing of Scott became necessary.

The signing of Scott brings the Silver Sox staff back up from nine to 10 pitchers. But the retirement of Hahn leaves Reno with 21 players, one below the 22-player roster that's allowed.

Hahn, a 2001 Galena High graduate, signed with the Silver Sox this year after playing several years in the minor leagues. But he struggled with Reno, going 5-for-33. He did end his career on a high note, going 2-for-3 in his last game, a 2-1 win over the St. George Roadrunners on Monday.
