Chartered in October 2006 with $10 million in capital, Carson River Community Bank recently achieved a milestone of $20 million in total assets.


"Loan growth has been stronger than we projected because we can make lending decisions quickly. Our local ownership and on-site decision-making are welcome changes for our business and consumer customers," said Dan Dykes, bank president and CEO.


Community leaders, banking professionals, and local investors founded Carson River Community Bank last year to fill a need for personalized banking and local decision-making. The bank specializes in tailoring services to fit the customer's needs and making banking convenient through round-the-clock account access (Internet banking and 24-hour ATM service), mobile banking, and courier services.


Besides Dykes, the bank's executives are Charlie Glenn, chief credit officer, and Julie Kidd, chief financial officer. Members of the board of directors include Byron Waite, chairman; Barbara Sikora, Mike Jacobs, Toby Cooling, Dick McCole, Frank Bishop, Alan Reed, Dan Dykes, and John Lohmeier (director-elect). Budge Brown, Brent Holderman, and Brad Spires were on the organizing team.


The bank in the North Valley Plaza shopping center at Highway 395 and Jacks Valley Road across from Target. Bank hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with 24-hour ATM service.




Transportation company aids economic development


Aztech Transportation Service dedicated one of its executive coaches in service to the Nevada Commission on Economic Development. The 47-passenger over-the-road coach is wrapped with the department's graphics and messages and will travel throughout the state's rural communities.


Its crew of 12 to 15 specialists will assist local businesses with development and expansion planning.




Meadors will serve as Cancer Liason Physician


Mark Meadors, DO, of Carson City, recently received a three-year appointment as Cancer Liaison Physician for the cancer program at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare. Cancer Liaison Physicians are an integral part of cancer programs approved by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.


Meadors is among a national network of more than 1,600 volunteer physicians who are responsible for providing leadership and direction to establish, maintain and support their facilities' cancer program.


Meadors, who has a significant interest in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with malignant diseases, is a member of the multidisciplinary cancer committee at Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare, an institution dedicated to facilitating the delivery of comprehensive quality cancer care.
