Donations for pets sought after fire

The Lake Tahoe Humane Society and S.P.C.A. is providing services to the community and its pets affected by the Angora fire as well as its colleagues at El Dorado County Animal Control in Meyers.

Lake Tahoe Humane Society is at 1221 Emerald Bay Road in South Lake Tahoe. Call (530) 542-2857. Donations of brand-name dog and cat food are still being accepted as well as cat litter and pans.

The organizations are providing: pet food and supplies for evacuated families; special needs as requested for animal evacuees at the shelter; Instant ID tags for temporary contact numbers; Veterinary financial assistance for injured pets; Special needs supplies for birds and exotic animals; pet equipment and set-up for evacuation center; outdoor dog kennels; foster family matching and support; pet loss grief group; continuing disaster preparation education.
