Carson City


No job too big or small for Capital Christian Center trash hauling fundraiser on Saturday


"Extraordinary Men" from Capital Christian Center will hold a trash hauling fundraiser Saturday. There is no job too big or too small.


Old cars (with title) will be removed, as well as trash, trimmings, junk, furniture, appliances, anything needed to be hauled away.


They will have trucks and crews in the surrounding area; skip loaders and dump trucks are available for large jobs.


Those needing the service are asked to call 883-3355 or 720-2067 for an estimated donation amount.


Cowboy poetry Saturday


The Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary will be holding its 13th annual "Cowboy Jubilee and Poetry" at 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday the Carson City Community Center Theater.


Reserved seating is $25; general admission is $20. A Western barbecue dinner will be served from 5-8 p.m. in the community center's gym. Dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Call 445-5142.




Dinner, dance to benefit Alzheimer's group


The Carson City Senior Citizens Center will be holding a "March Hoe-down" dinner and senior dance Saturday.


Dinner will be from 5-6 p.m. with a wine bar. Cost is $6.50 and it will benefit the Alzheimer's Association. The dance will be from 7-10 p.m. with music provided by "Mixed Nuts."


There will be dance lessons from 6-7 p.m. Cost of the dance is $6 per person. Call 883-0703.




Carson City Democratic women to meet


The Carson City Democratic Women's Club will meet from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Grandma Hattie's Restaurant, 2811 S. Carson St.


There will be a brunch buffet available for $10 per person. Guest speakers will be Mike Furlong, BAC10 (Cable Channel 10) and Carissa Snedegger, Democratic State Party rural representative. All Democrats are welcome.

Informational meeting for parents of children with Down syndrome


An informational meeting for parents of children with Down syndrome will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the home of John and Kate Milby, 613 Terrace St., Carson City. The Down Syndrome Parent Network welcomes others to share information, concerns and joys about their children.

Community Band performs Children's Concert


The Capital City Community Band will be holding it's annual Children's Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Carson City Community Center's Boldrick Theater. This concert will feature young musicians from Carson City. Call 883-2219.

Dayton Democrats to meet Saturday


The next luncheon meeting of the Dayton Democratic Club will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Dayton Valley Golf Course restaurant. Members will order individually off the menu. Call 246-9878.
