Hal "Sandy" Sanders, 90, a Carson City resident since 1981, died March 8, 2007, at his home.

Mr. Sanders was born Feb. 9, 1917, in Texas, to Gold and Ethel Sanders.

He married Adalane "Jackie" King Nov. 5, 1949.

He was a salesman. He and his wife later owned the business SANJACK. He was also a theater actor.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1941-45, during which time he saw action at Guadalcanal.

He served as the former president of the Rotary Club in Tarzana, Calif., in 1951.

He enjoyed traveling the U.S. and Australia with his wife, spending time with his friends, the Sierra Nevada, and fishing with his grandchildren.

Among his survivors are his wife of 57 years, of Carson City; daughters Molly Sanders of Carson City and Elizabeth Sanders of Sacramento; sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Kristy Sanders of Costa Mesa, Calif., Kirk and Karen Sanders of Anderson, Calif., and Michael and Sally Sanders of Redding, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A private family celebration of life will be held in Carson City at a later date.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
