DOUGLAS SPLITS

The Douglas High swim teams settled for a split against South Tahoe, with the girls winning 158-120 and the boys losing 138-119.

Katie O'Niell led a sweep for the girls in the 200 I.M., winning in 2:23.78. Sara Sigala was second and Whitney Simpson was third. O'Niell also led a sweep in the 50 free as she won in 27.53 while Sigala was second and Denai Neilander was third.

Also for Douglas, Virginia Evans won the 100 free in 1:04.07 while Cassie Parr was second in 1:05.24. Haley Vonschuttenstein, O'Niell, Simpson and Sigala won the 200 free relay in 1:52.77. Vonschuttenstein also won the 100 back in 1:11.58.

For the boys, Marco Hyman won the 200 I.M. in 2:20.18 while Blake Maxwell led a 1-2-3 sweep in the 50 free. Blake won in 25.28, James Spencer was second and Ryan Dykes was third.

In addition, Hyman won the 100 fly in 1:04.00. Hyman, Paul Von and Maxwell also helped Douglas to a win in the 200 free relay in 1:46.50. Von won the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.31 as well.
