Carson JV baseball sweeps South Tahoe

Cody Barr had a huge day for the Carson High junior varsity baseball team in its sweep of South Tahoe on Saturday at CHS.

Barr went 5-for-6 with nine RBI in the two games as Carson (8-3, 3-0) won the opener 12-2 and the nightcap 9-4.

Barr was 3-for-4 with five RBI in the opener. Also for Carson, Justin Allbritten was 2-for-3 with four RBI and Blake Plattsmier and Tommy Preston each had a hit and an RBI. David Charles went the distance for the win in the game that was called after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Barr was 2-for-2 with four RBI in the nightcap. In addition, Blake Davidson, Dom Mariani and Mason Bondi all had a hit and an RBI.

After allowing three runs in the first inning, Dustin Buttner settled down to pitch three solid innings, allowing just one hit. Allbritten allowed one run over three innings and David Pearse pitched a scoreless inning, striking out two.
