Darrell Rasner's next start for the New York Yankees could be on national television in the Subway Series.

With a bye on Monday and a rainout on Tuesday, the Yankees had originally planned to skip over him in the rotation and use him in long relief on Tuesday if needed. But Tuesday's game against the White Sox in Chicago was rained out.

Tuesday's game was rescheduled for today in a doubleheader. It's likely that Tuesday's scheduled starter, Mike Mussina and Chien-Ming Wang will be today's starters.

The Yankees would need either Matt DeSalvo or Rasner to start on Thursday. If the Yankees go with DeSalvo on Thursday, Andy Pettitte would go on Friday against the New York Mets and Rasner would receive the start in a nationally televised game on Saturday, set to begin at 12:55 p.m. on FOX.

Even if he doesn't start until Saturday, Rasner is no longer available as a long reliever as he would be coming back on two days rest. The fact that the Yankeers were ready to use him as a long reliever on Tuesday may explain why he went only five innings on Friday in the Yankees' 3-0 loss to the Mariners in Seattle.

Rasner allowed all three runs in taking the loss. Rasner is now 1-2 with a 3.25 earned run average for the Yankees this year.

Carson-Douglas shines in rodeo

The Carson-Douglas Rodeo Club had several outstanding efforts this past weekend at the Nevada State High School Association Rodeo in Elko.

In Sunday's go-round, Carson-Douglas went 1-2 in bareback riding as Cory Hershkowitz won with a score of 66 and Cody Kiser took second with a score of 57.

Alyce Kugler won the overall average in girls cutting, winning Saturday's go-round with a 73 and taking second in Sunday's go-round with a 74. Gardnerville's Jonathan Glocknitzer, who competes as an independent, also took first and second in boys cutting, scoring 73 on Saturday and 69 on Sunday.
