A funeral service for Andrew R. Steingasser, a two-year resident of Dayton, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Mr. Steingasser died May 18, 2007, in Dayton. He was 69.

Mr. Steingasser was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Detroit to Andrew and Margaret Steingasser.

He married Bonnie B. Hutchison on March 17, 1984, in Reno.

Before moving to Dayton, Mr. Steingasser lived in Carson City.

Mr. Steingasser was a plant supervisor at Chevron Gas Depot and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He enjoyed bowling, bingo, target shooting, miniature trains and attending air shows. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Steingasser was preceded in death by son Johnny Edwards in 1997.

He is survived by his wife; daughter and son-in-law Mellisa and Richard Borges of Waterford, Calif.; sons and daughters-in-law Greg and Hazel of Salinas, Calif., Steve and Brenda of San Jose, Calif., Mike and Gina Edwards of Buckeye, Ariz., Ernest and Debra Smythe of Pendleton, Ore., and Bret and Lisa Smythe of Portland, Ore.; sisters and brothers-in-law Marilyn and Jim Getchel of Santa Clara, Calif., Barbara and Tom Kenyan of Ft. Jones, Calif., and Shirley and John Friesen of Cottonwood, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
