What's closed on Memorial Day

Monday is Memorial Day. All WNCC branches will be closed, as will all local area schools.

The Storey County senior citizens center will be open; the Douglas County, Dayton, Carson City and Silver Springs senior centers will be closed.

All U.S. post offices will be closed.

The Federal Reserve will be closed, and most banks and credit unions will be closed as well. Check your local branch for more information.

Carson City

The Carson City Marriage Bureau will be closed.

The Carson City Sheriffs Department will be closed. Officers will patrol as usual.

The Carson City Public Library will be closed.

The Nevada State Museum will be open.

The Nevada State Railroad Museum will be open.

The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada will be closed.

Jump Around Carson bus will operate on a normal schedule.

The Nevada Appeal will be closed.

Douglas County

The Douglas County Public Library branches in Minden and Lake Tahoe will be closed.

The Douglas County Jail will be closed. Officers will patrol as usual.

The Douglas County Marriage Bureau at Lake Tahoe will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be no judge to perform marriages. The bureau in Minden will be open on-call from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., but there will be no judge available.

Douglas Area Regional Transit will not be running.

Lyon County

All Lyon County libraries will be closed.

All Lyon County public offices, including the marriage bureau, will be closed.
