The Storey County School District Board of Trustees will hear an appeal from a fired Virginia City High School teacher at 1 p.m. Nov. 13.

School Board President Pam Smith said the tentative location for the hearing will be the Virginia City Middle School library.

William Beeson, who taught English and theater arts for more than 20 years at the high school, was placed on administrative leave in May after being accused of improper conduct with a student, and was fired in August.

No criminal charges were filed against him.

In September, the board was presented with a petition signed by 113 of 151 students at the high school supporting Beeson's return.

Beeson could seek arbitration if the termination is upheld.
