'High School Musical' slated


Wild Horse Children's Theater, in collaboration with The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, presents Disney's "High School Musical."


Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Dec. 7, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and Dec. 8-9 at the Children's Museum, 813 N. Carson St.


Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for students and seniors, $5 ages 12 and under. Children 3 and under are free if they are accompanied by an adult and do not occupy a seat. For information, call 887-0438 or e-mail wildhorsearts@aol.com.




Center offers computer classes


Registration for Introduction to Computers opens Saturday at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center. Register at the business office, 911 Beverly Drive.


Introductory classes are scheduled 9-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays Jan. 7-30 and 1-3 p.m. Thursdays Jan. 8-31. For information call 883-0703, extension 222.


Archives hosting crafts show


Visit the Christmas Craft Show and Vendor Blender at the Nevada State Library and Archives 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Various vendors will have their wares on display in the lobby of the Library and Archives. Pictures with Santa will be from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.




Dickens Christmas faire benefits homeless shelter


Win a prize by dressing as a Dickens character at the Charles Dickens Christmas Faire benefiting the Rural Center for Independent Living and the Do Drop Inn homeless day shelter. The faire will be 10 am.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Carson Mall, 1313 S. Carson St. Entertainment, baked goods, crafts to do, gift wrapping and caroling. For information, contact 450-3729.




BLM seeks comment on impact study


The Bureau of Land Management, Carson City Office has prepared an oil and gas leasing environmental assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for Nye County to analyze impacts from leasing in the Gabbs Valley area.

Band, choir combine for holiday concert


The Capital City Community Band and the Western Nevada College Choir will join in a free concert 3 p.m. Sunday in the Bob Boldrick Theater in the Carson Community Center.


The choir will perform music of the season and join the band for a medley of seasonal favorites. The choir will also lead an audience sing-a-long.


The band will perform a variety of music, from Latin to Sousa, as well as holiday songs.
