Chamber hosting Christmas party


Celebrate Christmas with Carson City Chamber of Commerce at the party 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St. The Chamber, in cooperation with the Nevada Appeal, NNDA, NCET and Convention and Visitors Bureau, is co-hosting the event.

'High School Musical' continues at museum


Wild Horse Theater Children's Theater, in collaboration with The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, presents Disney's "High School Musical." at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. today, Sunday and Dec. 8-9 at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, 813 N. Carson St.

Fairy tales, fables basis of one-acts


A hilarious collection of fairy tales from stories in the Grimm Brothers' Collection and Aesop's fables will be presented in three performances at Western Nevada College from today and Sunday.


"Story Theatre" is the first offering of the college's Winnemucca Drama Series, which showcases actors in training at WNC.


The show will be presented in Sarah Winnemucca Hall tonight at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.


All seats are $8.

Karson Kruzers car club is holding their monthly meeting 6 p.m. Sunday at Round Table Pizza off College Parkway, Wal-Mart Shopping area. The club is open to all vehicle enthusiasts.

Library offering fines amnesty for toys


Patrons of the Carson City Library can clear overdue fines, or return long-overdue items and have their fines waived by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy for the Marine Corps Toys for Toys program between Monday and Dec. 21.


Amnesty does not apply to lost or damaged items.


Carson City Library is officially designated as a drop-off location for the program.

College to display floral paintings


Brightly colored floral paintings will hang on the walls of Western Nevada College's Main Gallery. Artist April Richardson's mixed-media work will show Monday through Jan. 11.


Also in WNC College Gallery, Carson City and Fallon printmaking students will show their semester's work in a one-week exhibit Monday-Thursday.


A reception for Richardson and the student artists will be 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday.


Technical theater workshop in Carson


Wild Horse Children's Theater and the Carson City Bob Boldrick Theater, 851 E. Williams St., present a technical theater workshop designed for students ages 12 and up interested in the behind-the-scenes theater experience.


The workshop is 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and will be taught by Preston Dunn, technical supervisor at the Bob Boldrick Theater as well as a freelance systems technician.
