Cesar Ammay Custodio, 53, of Carson City, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2007 after a 3-year battle with cancer.

Cesar was born October 30, 1953 to Conrado and Teotista Custodio in Subic, Philippines. He grew up with 3 brothers and 3 sisters and shared a close bond with them all. He married Leonor, his forever love, on January 24, 1981 and had two children, Lesley and Conrad. After 20 years of duty in the U.S. Navy, including service on the USS Midway during Operation Desert Storm, Cesar retired and moved with his family to Carson City from Yokosuka, Japan in 1995. He was a dedicated mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and an active member of the Filipino-American Association of Carson City (FAACC). Cesar enjoyed reading, traveling with his family, concerts and music (especially the Beatles), karaoke, and, as an avid Raiders fan, watching football games with his son, Conrad, all of which he continued despite his illness.

Throughout his illness, Cesar was a model of strength and always maintained an ongoing positive attitude. He was an inspiration in many ways for his family and friends. Cesar is survived by a loving family: his wife, Leonor; his children, Lesley and Conrad; his brothers and their wives - Al and Cora, Robert and Marites, and Junior and Arlene; his sisters and their husbands - Mila and Manny, Tess and Rolly, and Connie and Ricky, many nieces and nephews; and a caring extended family and circle of friends that spans coast to coast and worldwide. Memorial services will begin with a public viewing on Friday, Oct 5, from 5:30pm - 9:00pm at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. A memorial mass and viewing will be held at St. Teresa of Avila on Saturday, Oct 6 at 10a.m .

Cesar, you are loved and missed, but we take comfort that you are now at peace. We invite you to send a message in the "family guestbook" at www.waltonsfuneralhomes.com
