Emerson Norris Wells

Emerson Norris Wells was born March 5, 1924 in Chicago, IL and passed away

October 7, 2007 in Carson City, NV.

He received his BS from the University of Colorado and attended Michigan State University prior to completion at UC. His degree was in Mechanical Engineering. Emerson had worked as an Industrial Engineer and a Value Analysis Engineer, initially at General Electric at the Hanford Atomic Works, Richland, WA, Hercules in Salt Lake City, UT, and the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory near Cumberland, MD in West Virginia. He later entered private industry with Operations Research, Inc.

near Washington, DC and worked for Hewlitt-Packard in Colorado Springs, CO.

He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII as an enlisted man and NCO.

He did serve overseas in India and missed an opportunity to open the Burma

Trail which was a regret of his. Emerson was called back into service during the Korean Conflict and later served in the Air Force Reserves. He was a professional photographer and owned Serendipity Photography.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Wells in 1999 and by son, Damon Wells.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Pettitt-Wells of Carson City, NV; children, Thomas J. Wells of Purcellville, VA, Roy Wells of Colorado Springs, CO, Karen Wells of Carson City, NV, and Dean Wells of Cheyenne, WY; 4 grandchildren, Nicole, Sarah, Ashley, and Christina; 3 great grandchildren, Henry, James, and Lucy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City, NV.
