Today's weather begins with breezy and mostly cloudy skies with isolated showers mainly west of Highway 395. Snow level around 6000 feet with highs 49-59 and west winds 10-20 mph.

The Nevada Department of Transportation has noted the following road controls:

All routes are open with no controls with the following exceptions:

I80: Snow tires or chains required for 5.58 miles between 0.27 miles west of Summit Exit 373 and 0.29 miles west of Oasis Exit 378.

US50: Chains mandatory for 11 miles between 10.56 miles east of Kyburz, Calif. and 4.1 miles west of Junction of California State Route 89.

US395: Open with no controls, high wind warning: campers and trailers are prohibited through Washoe Valley.

SR88: Snowtires or chains required for 6.5 miles between 6.7 miles east of Hams Station California and 5.8 miles east of Peddlar Hill, Calif.

- Chains mandatory for 25.2 miles between 5.8 miles east of Peddlar Hill, Calif. and Junction State Route 89 at Picketts Junction.

SR89: Snow tires or chains required for 7.21 miles between Bliss State Park and Tahoma.

SR431: Snowtires or chains required for 9.3 miles between 4.9 miles north of Junction State Route 28 and 10.33 miles south of Junction US 395.
