It was the biggest win of the season for the Western Nevada College women's soccer team and one of the biggest victories in the three-year history of the program.

The Wildcats beat Cisco College, the nation's No. 12 ranked team, 3-2 in overtime on Saturday at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. Kalah Minter scored on an assist from Jordan Forman six minutes into the first sudden death overtime period to give Western Nevada the win.

"This is a real, real great victory for us," Wildcat coach Hillary Arthur said. "It was a battle out there.

"I'm really proud of them. It was a great team effort. It was a real team effort to secure the victory."

Devan Wellington scored on an assist from Forman six minutes into the game to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead, but Cisco responded with two goals to take a 2-1 halftime lead. But then Virginia Loyola scored on an assist from Alexia Balmaseda 27 seconds into the second half to tie the score 2-2.

Arthur also said that Samantha Perry had an outstanding game defensively.

Western Nevada (9-4-2) will finish its regular season when it plays Navarro College today. The Wildcats will then play for the right to be in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament against North Idaho College in Idaho this Saturday.
