A Rosary will be said for George H. Dias, 83, a 16-year Carson City resident, at 6 p.m. Thursday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. A funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Friday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

He died Sept. 9, 2007, at his home.

Mr. Dias was born Dec. 5, 1923, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Manuel and Caroline Ennis Dias.

He married Barbara Gomieo on July 28, 1956, in Honolulu.

He was the distribution manager for Chevron Oil Co. in Honolulu for 35 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was an active member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Among his survivors are his children Wayne Dias of Carson City; Frances Charters of Watsonville, Calif.; Patricia Nitta and husband, Duane, of Kona, Hawaii; and Caroline McCoulough of Ohio; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place in Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
