An 8-year-old Minden boy died after a fall while playing flag football on the field adjacent to the Douglas County School District Office at 10:23 a.m. Saturday.
Douglas County Sheriff's reported the boy "collapsed while attending an athletic practice for a team with the Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department."
He was transported to Minden Medical Center and pronounced dead at 11:35 a.m.
His family was present at Minden Medical Center.
The cause of death is unknown.
An autopsy is scheduled for today, Sheriff's officials said.
