Carson fugitive arrested in Oregon

A Carson City fugitive wanted in Placer County following a police chase in Colfax two weeks, was arrested in Oregon on Saturday after leading police there on a high-speed chase.

Daniel Mondragon, 26, and Jennifer Penman, 25, were arrested at about 7 p.m. by Oregon State troopers following the chase which reached 130 mph and ran between Baker City and La Grande, Ore., according to the Baker City Herald.

Mondragon is wanted by Carson City authorities on a felony warrant for obtaining money under false pretenses.

Placer County authorities are expected to charge Mondragon and Penman in the April 16 chase in Colfax in which Mondragon allegedly smashed into a patrol car to elude capture.
