Washoe Valley closed to campers, trailers

Today's weather will be sunny and windy with areas of blowing dust in the afternoon. Highs 65-75 with southwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph increasing to west 20-35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph in the afternoon. Local gusts to 70 mph in wind prone areas.

Tonight, windy and partly cloudy with areas of blowing dust in the evening. Lows 28-38 with west winds 20-30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph becoming northwest 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph after midnight. Local gusts up to 70 mph in wind prone areas in the evening.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Edmonds, and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation at 6:11 a.m. reports all routes open in Northern Nevada with no controls with the exception of Highway 395:

A high wind advisory is in effect. Campers and trailers are prohibited for 6 miles between Eastlake Boulevard and Winters Ranch.
