Today's weather will be partly cloudy with isolated showers in the morning, then mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs 86-96 with west winds up to 10 mph shifting to the south in the afternoon.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms, then clear after midnight. Lows 57-67 with west winds 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph shifting to the southwest around 10 mph after midnight.

Friday, sunny with highs 83-93 with light winds becoming west 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays, mainly Fairview Drive between Roop Street and South Lompa Lane, primarily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and Highway 50 East between Airport Road and Saliman Road.

Resurfacing continues on Highway 50; traffic controls are in effect during all hours of the day with lane variations.

The closure of westbound Fairview Drive from Saliman Road to Roop Street is in effect through Aug. 31. Alternate routes of travel are Colorado Street to the south, and Little Lane to the north.

Traffic will be controlled at times; alternate routes are advised.

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 6:18 a.m. all roads open with no controls.
