Car with body found in Lake Lahontan

(Staff reports) - Authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding a vehicle that had been submerged in Lake Lahontan with a body inside.

David Jones from the Department of Public Safety Investigative Division said Wednesday the details at this time are sketchy.

The vehicle has been pulled from the lake, and Jones said it appears the vehicle had been there for some time. The gender of the body has not been released.

Jones said the Churchill County Sheriff's Office and the DPS are at the location.

Nevada State Park officials are heading the investigation.

Jones said there will be more information available today.
