A Fernley man was jailed early Wednesday morning after a standoff at his home just before 5 a.m.

Patrick Don Howry, 50, was booked into the Lyon County Jail on suspicion of domestic battery and obstructing and delaying a peace officer.

According to Lt. Rob Hall, 911 dispatchers received a call at 12:07 a.m. from a breathless woman screaming for help. When the line disconnected, dispatch called the number back, and as the woman continued to scream she stated she was on Mallard Drive.

When officers arrived, they saw someone inside shut the blinds and lock the front door.

Officers also noted what appeared to be blood smears on the door, entry way and walk way.

Deputies forced entry into the home but were unable to find anyone. However, more blood was found, along with signs of a struggle, said Sgt. Ryan Powell.

After nearly three hours, said Hall, Howry and his 24-year-old wife allegedly emerged from the crawl space under the home.

The woman appeared to have sustained minor injuries to her face.

The couple said they'd argued earlier in the evening and it turned physical.

Howry's bail was set at 4,264.
