The United Auto Workers (UAW) are trying to bite off their noses to spite their faces ... They won't give concessions to the Big 3 auto makers or Congress during the "bailout" process. With their $69 per HOUR wage contracts, the union won't budge. Let's see ... union won't budge on wages, car makers haven't retooled to make cars Americans will buy, CEOs and union are clueless ... so what's the point? Yep, that's where we want our bailout taxes to go. Let's hope someone in Congress has a grip. ... HAHAHAHAHAHA.

'Ma'am,' said the employee answering the phone, 'today is Saturday ... the Sunday paper won't be delivered until tomorrow.' There was a long pause, followed by a ray of recognition, and the caller was heard to mutter, 'Well, shoot ... that's why there was no one there at church today.'"

Anarchy ... riots in Greece to bring down the government ... Somalia in total chaos ... where do they go from here? So far the Greeks are quieting down, but the Somalian pirates are still doing their thing. Our suggestion? Arm every ship that goes near their waters with armed guards or mercenaries and shoot them out of the water. It would be a lot cheaper than ransom.

Every year, we get a letter from Shirley Bierman regarding the wonderful work being done with the Romanian Families in Berceni, Romania. Many Nevadans are helping to build them a senior/community center in the center of town, so that they can socialize, have a hot meal and learn money-earning trades. Thanks to many of you, it is becoming a reality. And here's a warm story from Sally Walter. While she was enjoying a delicious lunch and mocha at the City Cafe Bakery, her car key had fallen off her key ring. A Super Pawn employee, Steve, came in and asked if anyone was missing a key. Sally found out she was, and it was returned to the grateful owner. Her car and dog were safe and she wanted to commend Steve and the City Cafe Bakery folks for being so kind. With tears of joy, she sends them her thanks. And thanks, Sally, for the story about the kindness of others.

Bullis and Company on South Division can now feel they're in the thick of things after receiving a "suspicious" letter in the mail with a white powder in it. Fortunately, it was benign, but all the law enforcement people had to check it out. Too bad the nuts are out there being vicious. May they get coal in their stockings, and a Bah Humbug!
