People who wish to donate to the Conway family to offset funeral expenses for 12-year old Kyra can do so at any branch of Greater Nevada Credit Union, account number 868378.
Kyra, 11, died Tuesday from what doctors believe may be symptoms related to Influenza B. Her mother, Danielle, has been in a long battle with cancer.
Kyra first felt sick on Feb. 5 after coming back from Disneyland. Her family believed her symptoms were related to her asthma. She started having pain in her chest last Friday and went to Carson Tahoe Hospital where doctors treated her asthma.
But over the weekend her condition worsened until she was back in the hospital with a high fever and pneumonia. She was flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno, where doctors could not stabilize her. They flew her to UC Davis Medical Center for an emergency procedure to restore her breathing, but she died en route.
A celebration of Kyra's life is tentatively scheduled for Monday at 3 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center.
