Ralph Marcus Majon Johnson

Ralph Marcus Majon Johnson was born on February 7, 1917 in Sioux City, Iowa to Harry and Matilda Johnson. He died Feb. 15, 2008.

He was the first of thirteen children. After finishing high school, he joined the U.S. Navy in 1937. He was a survivor of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in 1941. He was an Aviation Metal Smith Chief Petty Officer and retired in 1957.

He then moved his family to Los Angeles, CA where he worked for TRW in the production of the Lunar Exploration Module Decent Engine.

After retiring from TRW in 1979, he moved to Carson City. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and had served as president of the congregation.

He is survived by his son Kenneth E. Johnson of Carson City and his brothers; Howard, Lloyd, Gordon and George, and his sisters; Doris, Lois and Mary.

A funeral service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1837 Mountain Street, Carson City, NV 89703 on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Bethlehem Lutheran Church. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is caring for the arrangements.
