Carl 'C.J.' Hanner, 86, a 42-year resident of Carson City, passed away at his home on Jan. 11, 2008. Born May 30, 1921, in W. Va. to Fred and Jessie Hanner, Carl served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and married Dolores "Dolly" Bergman on Sept. 9, 1946 in Alameda, Calif. A self-employed 'drywall man', Carl operated Hanner and Sons Drywall in Lake Tahoe and Carson City from 1961 to 1984.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one daughter, Kathleen, and a grandson, Kenny.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, three sons, Wayne of Gridley, Calif., Ken of LaPine, Ore., Curtis of Carson City, and one daughter, Debbie Hanner of Sacramento, Calif., four grandchildren, Crystal, Ron, Lisa and Steve, nine great grandchildren and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Walton's Chapel of the Valley. Private family burial with Military Honors will follow at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery, 128 N. Roop St., Carson City, NV.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Carl's memory to Corpus Christi Catholic Church Building Fund, 5335 Snyder Ave., Carson City, NV 89701.
