CHS wrestlers solid in Idaho event

The Carson High wrestling team had a solid showing on the first day of the high-powered Tiger-Grizz Invitational in Idaho Falls, Idaho on Friday.

All 11 Senator wrestlers will be competing today. Two CHS wrestlers, Todd Banko and Aaron Jolcover, went unbeaten on Friday and were still alive in today's championship bracket.

Seven other Senators wrestlers have a chance to place today. Patrick Craugh, Nick Schlager, Martin Azzam, Junior Valadarez, Trent Simpson, Garret Truesdell and Max Schadek all had one loss on Friday and are still alive to place today.

Adam Welch and Ricky Urgarte both went 1-2 on Friday and will wrestle in today's second chance tournament.

Dayton girls basketball beats Sparks

Chanelle Thompson continued her high-scoring exploits as she scored 31 points to lead the Dayton High girls basketball team to a 54-45 win over Sparks on Friday.

Aundria Pluch scored nine points, Brittany Hill and Ariella Ruybal each had five points and Kathie Arias added four points for Dayton (11-1, 4-1 in the Northern 3A).
