Corvette club seeking new members


The Lake Tahoe Corvette Club is currently conducting a membership drive for Corvette owners in the greater Carson area and around Lake Tahoe who would like to meet with other Corvette owners to socialize and enjoy Corvette related activities.

Sign-up for Little League play


Carson City Little League baseball will hold sign-ups 8:30 a.m.-noon Saturday and Feb. 2 at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

The Second Judicial District Court hosts the monthly service fair 10 a.m.-noon today on the third floor of the North Tower of 1 S. Sierra St.

Sparks Nugget to host Brew HaHA


Nevada's biggest party is back, bigger and better than ever, as Brew HaHa XIII returns 8 p.m.-midnight Saturday to the Rose Ballroom at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks.

A Portrait of Patsy Cline at Piper's


Piper's Opera House and the Virginia City Ramada Inn present Joni Morris and the After Midnight Band in "A Portrait of Patsy Cline," 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Piper's Opera House, 12 N. B St.


Backed by her After Midnight band, Morris takes the audience back to Cline's heyday in the '50s and '60s, with "Crazy," "I Fall to Pieces" and "Walkin' After Midnight." The bar will open an hour before the show begins.Admission is $20. For reservations and information call 847-0433.




Elvis' stepbrother to appear at Piper's


Rick Stanley, the late Elvis Presley's stepbrother, will perform "Graceland to Grace," at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Piper's Opera House, 12 North B St., Virginia City.
