CHS skiers fall against Reno

The Carson High boys and girls ski teams held their own against Sierra League power Reno High on Wednesday at Mt. Rose before falling against the Huskies.

Carson's girls fell to Reno 86-65 and the CHS boys fell to Reno 87-65. Both CHS girls and boys fell to 2-1 in the Sierra League, but both are still in line to finish second in league and qualify for the NIAA State Championships.

For Carson's girls, Kacey Potter had an outstanding time in the slalom, finishing second in 28.13 seconds. Other top finishers for Carson were Nicole Carlevato, who took eighth in 32.90, Tina Midboe, who was ninth in 34.25 and Danielle Beasom, who was 11th in 35.54.

For Carson's boys, Spencer Brinson had an outstanding time of 26.30 to take third. Also for Carson, Taylor Phillips was seventh (30,19), Andy Hook was ninth (30.88), Cameron Childers was 10th (31.61), Kurt Anderson was 11th (31.67) and Andew Richards was 12th (31.87).
