Onion festival canceled, concert expanded

The Mason Valley Onion Festival will not take place in 2008, but the "Night in the Country" music festival will be expanded.

Big-name country stars performing both Friday and Saturday at the show, which is scheduled for the last weekend in July.

Organizer Travis Crowder said the events lacked the manpower to put on both events, and crowds were smaller for the onion festival than for the music show, and the space at the Lyon County Fairgrounds was needed to accomodate campers.
