George R. Johannes

George R. Johannes passed away on June 26, 2008, in Carson City. George was born Dec. 19, 1938 in New York City to George and Regina Johannes.

He was a graduate of Manhattan College and Stanford University and was a Certified Public Accountant. George served as a Military Policeman in the Army Reserves. He was the Chief Financial Officer of three Fortune five hundred companies, including Johns Manville and Beazer materials and Services. He began his career as a CPA with Lybrand, Ross Brothers and Montgomery, now known as Coopers in New York City. He retired to Dayton in 1994 and shortly began an inventory software business with his friend of many years, which became very successful. He also did tax returns for his friends.

His wife Dorothe of Dayton, his daughter Linda Ann Johannes of Aurora, Colo., his son Dr. Robert Johannes and his wife Meriam of Golden, Colo., and his two grandchildren, survive George.

A memorial Mass will be 10 a.m., Friday, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Dayton with a reception to follow at the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Ann's Church, P.O. Box 309, Dayton, NV, 89403

Arrangements are in the care of Autumn Funerals and Cremations.
