Carson 14s fall to South Tahoe

The Carson 14-year-old Babe Ruth Baseball all-star team overcame a huge deficit against South Tahoe, but in the end was eliminated in the State Tournament on Saturday at Sparks' Golden Regional Sports Complex.

Carson lost 16-10 in nine innings. Carson overcame an 8-1 deficit to tie the game 10-10 after seven innings, but South Tahoe scored six runs in the top of the ninth for the win.

Cody Scarlett reached base five times as he doubled with two RBI and was hit by a pitch four times. Also for Carson, Collin McCulloch had a hit, RBI and a run, Drew Moreland doubled and had two RBI, Jace Carlson and Clint Page each had an RBI sacrifice fly, Nate Landes went 2-for-3 with a run, Seth Rojas was 1-for-3 with two runs and Cole Dufresne had a hit, run and two RBI.

In other action on Friday, Carson's 13-year-old Prep all-star team was eliminated from the State Tournament in an 11-1 loss to Reno West at Elko.
