Washoe Lake State Park will host an evening of star gazing on Aug. 2 from 8 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.

Astronomy experts and park rangers invite the general public to attend.

High powered telescopes will be available to view galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, satellites, the moons of Jupiter and many other fascinating objects in the Milky Way sky.

You are advised to bring a light jacket because evenings can be cool

The park is located on Eastlake Blvd. on the east side of Washoe Lake, 10 miles north of Carson City,

After entering the park, go left to the overflow boat lot, just east of the group pavilion area.

For information, call the park ranger at 687-4319.
