Appeal Staff Report

Darrell Rasner, a 1999 Carson High graduate, took the loss for the New York Yankees on Tuesday at Yankee Stadium as they fell to the Baltimore Orioles 7-6.

Rasner (5-8) had allowed two runs through six innings before allowing the first two runners reach base in the seventh inning. Rasner was charged with four runs in six innings after Damaso Marte came in and allowed Nick Markakis to single and then Aubrey Huff to hit a bases-clearing double to make it 5-1. Melvin Mora followed with a double to make it 6-1.

Huff's homer in the ninth made it 7-1 before the Yankees' rally in the bottom of the ninth fell short. Rasner walked three and struck out one while allowing eight hits.
