All-Sierra Nevada Softball Team

Mackenzie Cole, Dayton: The freshman did it all in helping to lead the Dust Devils to a 3A state runner-up finish. Cole hit .411 with four home runs and 15 RBI. She made an even bigger impact on the mound where she was 8-3 with 123 strikeouts in 72 innings. The Northern 3A Player of the Year.

Christa Casci, Carson: The Western Nevada-college bound Casci hit .361 and made the all-Sierra League second team.

Cassie Vondrak, Carson: Vondrak had an outstanding all-around season in being named to the all-league first team. Vondrak hit .412 with three home runs and 24 RBI. She also had a 0.75 earned run average on the mound with 69 strikeouts in 65 innings.

Abby Rankl, Carson: An all-league first team choice, Rankl had an outstanding season at the plate, hitting .522 with two home runs and 23 RBI. She had an .806 slugging percentage.

Stephanie Harper, Douglas: An all-Sierra League first team choice, Harper hit .337.

Lauren Hoppe, Douglas: An all-Sierra League first team choice, Hoppe hit .415 with four home runs, 40 RBI and 39 runs scored.Hoppe: She's a four-time first-team All-Sierra League and All-Sierra Nevada Media honoree.

Emily Weaver, Douglas: An all-Sierra League first team choice, Weaver had a banner year, hitting .512 and scored 43 runs.

Katrina Morgan, Douglas: She was deserving of a first team choice and settled for being named to the Sierra League's second team. She had an outstanding season with seven homers, 47 RBI and a .439 average.

Mackenzie Cauley, Douglas: Named to the all-league second team. She led Douglas in batting with a .514 average and had an impressive 32 RBI, considering she hit from the No. 2 spot. She also had seven triples. She was the Northern 3A Player of the Year.

Megan Fincher, Galena: An All-High Desert League first team choice, Fincher hit .424 with four home runs and 18 RBI and 23 run scored.

Sara Parsons, Fallon: An All-league first team choice.

Katie Reiswig, Truckee: A third-year varsity player and Truckee's only returning first-team All-Leaguer, Reiswig had a distinct knack for squaring up pitches " and they often traveled a long way. The senior outfielder and designated hitter led the Wolverines with a .702 slugging percentage while posting the team's second-highest batting average, .456, and on-base percentage, .475. Truckee coach Mitch Brown said Reiswig, who hit both cleanup and third in the order, has a good eye at the plate to compliment the pop in her bat. In the outfield, she flashed "exceptional speed" running down fly balls.

Brittany Barcellos, South Tahoe: A junior outfielder, Barcellos was selected by Northern 4A League coaches to the first team and was a second-team all-state choice. Barcellos was one of the fastest players in the Northern 4A, getting down the first-base line in 2.75 seconds.

Abby Kingman, Whittell: A senior infielder, Kingman was chosen to the Nevada 2A first team after hitting .538 with nine doubles and five triples. She had an eye-opening .613 on-base percentage and stole 22 bases.

Jayme King, Fernley: King hit .522 with 47 hits, five home runs, 14 doubles, eight triples and six stolen bases to help lead the Vaqueros to their second straight NIAA 3A State title. An all-Northern 3A first team choice.

Frances Estrada, Fernley: Along with King, she was the other team leader for the Vaqueros in their state title run. She hit .471 with 40 hits, 1 homer, 31 RBI and 10 stolen bases. She is also heading to WNC. An all-Northern 3A first team choice.

Honorable mention: Kelly Bartlett, South Tahoe; Moriah Lane, South Tahoe; Chelsea Cordell, Truckee.
