Edith Bush Le Fevre

Edith Bush LeFevre, 87, beloved wife, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 3, 2008, surrounded by family and loved ones in Dallas, Texas.

Edie was dearly loved and will be missed by her family. She is survived by her three children, daughter, Deborah Keenan (Tom), Dallas, Texas; sons Nick LeFevre (Marilyn), Austin, Texas; David LeFevre (Diane), Ventura, Calif.; her grandchildren David Keenan, Kevin Keenan (Natalia), Kelli Sordahl (Scott), Keith LeFevre (Jennifer), Nikki Lamb (Paul), Joe LeFevre; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Vondra Bancroft; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill LeFevre July 7, 1990; brother, William Edward Bush; sister, Mickey Gragg and her parents A. D. and Dorothy Jenkins Bush.

Sharing in our loss are Edie's extended family, her many dear friends and neighbors.

Edie led a full and active life. She was a native Nevadan, born Dec. 27, 1920 in Winnemucca to A. D. and Dorothy Jenkins Bush. She spent part of her growing up years in Nevada, and then moved to San Francisco. She graduated from the Sarah Dix Hamlin School, San Francisco in 1938 and then went on to attend the University of Oregon. During World War II Edie spent the war years helping in many ways on the home front. During this time she met Capt. Bill LeFevre, an army pilot, in Palm Springs, Calif. They were married in Los Angeles on January 25, 1944. After the war Edie and Bill settled in Ventura, Calif. where they raised their family and owned a successful bottled water business for many years. Edie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was involved in community activities and served on many philanthropic boards.

Edie and Bill then retired to Mt. Shasta, Calif. Edie was active in the Mt. Shasta community. Bill LeFevre passed away in Mt. Shasta, July 1990. Edie then moved to the desert she so loved, Dayton, Nevada and ultimately settled in Dallas, Texas enjoying her final years with family and friends.

While in the Carson City area Edie was very active in community affairs. She was a member of the Carson City Republican Women's Club, Nevada Federation of Republican Women, took part in Nevada Days and was a member of the Carson Tahoe Hospital Auxiliary. Edie was active in the Boys and Girls Club of Carson Valley. She was also a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

A graveside ceremony and internment will be 1 p.m., Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, 1370 El Camino Real, Colma, Calif. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Ventura, Bill LeFevre Center or a charity of choice.
