Parents and students at Riverview Elementary School will get a chance to help the school pay for academic supplies and playground equipment.
That chance will be the "Family Learning Night and Fundraising Event," at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the school, 1200 Ferretto Parkway, off Fort Churchill Road in Mark Twain.
Jessica Reeves, Riverview School secretary, said the event will include learning games, a book fair and a raffle. Call 246-6170 for more information.
Among the raffle prizes are two 30-day fitness passes at a local gym, golf passes, storage unit certificates, gift certificates from a local nursery, a hair salon, massage therapist, dog grooming, and UPS store.
Other donations include a $375 heath and wellness gift basket, a $285 beauty gift basket, a Starbucks coffee basket, and an organic living health basket.
Two free dinners at Wang's Chinese Restaurant in Occidental Square are also among the prizes. Raffle tickets are $2 each, six for $10.
Another event will be a book fair at the school library.
Videos of parents discussing child-rearing techniques will also be shown.
